Andre Breitbarth winning title of "Braunschweig Athlete of the Year" PDF Print E-mail
P1020224The SFV Europa Judoka were cheering their champion before his name was pronounced properly: Andre Breitbarth was elected "Athlete of the year" in the VW Hall at the 29th of January 2010. He really earned the title with his success at the Junior World Championships 2009 winning the Bronze medal and with his Bronze Medal win at the Mens German Championships 2010 at first go. Congratulations!

School Competititon Youth training for the Olympics: German Final 2010: Winning the B Final! PDF Print E-mail
IMG_2064The NO students of the SFV Europa participated in the German Final School Competition "Youth training for the Olympic" 2010 again, this time in Oberhof. They won their first fight against the Robert Schumann School (Saarlouis) 4:1, then lost against the Sportsschool Jena with a tight 3:2 score. Next day they started against the BIZ St. Konrad Ravensburg (Baden Württemberg) in their first round winning 4:1 and also won against the Freiherr-vom-Stein-Schule Hünfelden-Dauborn (Hessen) with a 4:1 score. Thus they fought  for Rank 9 among the federal states next day. Here they won against a school team from Speyer with a 3:1 score thus winning the B Final round and scoring the best team result of a boys Lower Saxony team ever. Fighting were: Jan Reisner , Thorben Pieper (-66 kg), Julian Schade (-60 kg), Jöran Palm (-55 kg), Frederik Jäde (-50 kg), Sven Gärtner, Leon Volltrath, Roberto DiGioia (-46 kg). Congratulations!
 
Robert Barwig German Vice Champion for the Youth under 17 years of age 2010 PDF Print E-mail
DSC_4414Robert Barwig is German Vice Champion for the Youth under 17 years of age 2010. The SFV europa Judoka won in his weight category -66 kg on February 28th at the Nürburgring treating himself to some agile and energetic fights up to his final. He there had to succumb to his old mate Robin Gutsche in Golden Score only thus winning the Vice Title. His team mate Frederik Jäde (-50 kg) being youngest in his age group showed two fine matches before he had to drop out. Congratulations!

Northern Regional Championships u20 2010: Christoph Barg winning Gold, Björn Reck Bronze PDF Print E-mail
SFV Europa Judoka Christoph Barg won the title of Northern Regional Champion in the weight category -90 kg for Juniors u20 2010 on February 21rst in Norderstedt. He was able to win all his matches prematurely showing top performance and thus getting the ticket for the German Championships of his age group. Björn Reck won Bronze in his weight category -100 kg winning two of his four matches in a limited field of participants. Felix Schulze - new in this age group - started in his weight category -81 kg, losing his first match. But he recovered in repucharge round winning two more fights until he lost his fight for third place due to a rather unfortunate referees decision. Congratulations!
 
First Steps in the International Judo World for Andre Breitbarth PDF Print E-mail
Andre Breitbarth gave his debut in the mens international judo world at the IJF Judo Grand Prix Turnier in Düsseldorf in February 21rst 2010 starting for Germany. The young SFV Europa Judoka was able to win his first match prematurely against Adiljon Tulendibaev from Uzbekistan. His next opponent was Keiji Suzuki, Gold Medal winner at the Olympic Games 2004 in Athens, double world champion and winner of the Alljapanese Championships 2005. The newcomer Andre Breitbarth showed a spirited fight against his famous opponent over three quaters of the allotted time, but had finally to succumb against an armlock technique of the older routinier from Japan. Congratulations to a spirited and promising first appearance in an international mens tournament!
 
Northern Regional Championships u17 2010 Robert Barwig and Frederik Jäde win the Title PDF Print E-mail
Erst kämpfen,  dann anfeuernThe Judolions Robert Barwig (-66 kg) and Frederik Jäde (-50 kg), the latter two starting youngest in their new age category, were able to win Gold at the Northern Regional Championships for Youth under 17 years of age and thus qualify for the German Championships 2010 in their age group.  Robert Barwig dominated his fights from the beginning and scored for Ippon wins prematurely. Frederik Jäde showed versatile and energetic fights using widely varying throwing techniques and thus also earned Gold in three premature Ippon wins awarded for shoulder throw and sickle techniques.

Judo Summer Camp 2009 PDF Print E-mail

Over 65 particpants met in the first 10 days of summer vacation following an old and good tradition. In the morning hours they practced their judo togehter and in the afternoons they worked on this years main topic "Moving music!" putting together a show for their friends and families. They worked songs out composing and texting new lines, making instruments and styling outfits for their show. They also had lot of holiday fun conoeing, swimming, having discoactivities and playing games even in the night hours. A visit to the famous zoo of Hannover was this years additional trip. Warm summer weather with lots of sun

Trip to Scharbeutz 2009 PDF Print E-mail
26 young Judolions spent their vacation time on a trip to Scharbeutz at the Baltic Sea from the 21rst to the 24rth of May 2009. By train they reached their destination and spent some nice and sunny days at the beach. In addition they visited the spa "Ostseetherme" and "Seaworld" on their first day in Timmendorf. Trampoline, Soccer with "Norbert" the ball and lots of fun in the water

Leoniade 2009: Judolions are Songsmiths PDF Print E-mail

Our Judolions showed their talents at the SFV Europa LEoniade Song Contest 2009 and many of the young judoka proved to be gifted songsmiths. Chiaras "Courage Song" won the contest followed closely by Danielas "Tournament Rap" and the song displayed by "Kais cool boys".

Leoniade 2009 - The Winner is Chiara Sixt PDF Print E-mail
More than 80 young Judolions startet at this years Leoniade 2009 on Saturday, the 16th of May 2009. First they had to show their coordinative skills, then shey demonstrated their prowess on the mat in a Pool Tournament and last they showed their skills at a song contest, leaving fans and families astonished and proud. They  were then awarded their medals by German Champion 2009 SFV Europa Judoka Andre Breitbarth. Finally the moment came: Chiara Sixt was anounced Leoniade Winner 2009 (140 points), Daniela Ehricht, Jakob Terschlüsen and Lars Geiger (all 130 points) placed second and Karina Zabbarov (120 points) came in fifth.

Wednesday Group: It´s not easy to stay on Top! PDF Print E-mail
It is not easy to stay on top - especially of a pyramid. But the group of Kai Scheibner on Wednesdays is showing here how to do it anyway. Fun, fitness and coordinative skills are required to make this possible as well as a good cooperation with all the partneres involved. All these skills are needetd to become a good judoka as well and thus the group is well prepared for the next Kyu examination coming up. Great picture, guys, and keep smiling!
