 On Saturday the 5th of July 2008 the youngest Judolions started their fighting carrier at the 4th Lions Games of Braunschweig, the Leoniade. At first a coordinative parcours was to tackle with the willing help of Callum, Robi, Freddy, Julian, Robin and Timo, the team who placed second in the Northern Regional Team Championships 2008.
Then the kids showed their talent as designers for the Judo wear 2010 on the Dojo Catwalk. Last not least the tournament took place, where each of the young participants had to tackle three to four matches in order to win one of the well earned medals afterwards under the eyes of the referees Anne and Victoria. Jakob Terschlüsen presented technically nice Judofights with several early Ippon throws to the applause of the families watching, Lars and Julia Geiger demonstrated, that even very young participants can show a fine fighting spirit even when confronted with much older opponents. Leoniade winner 2008 was in the end Johanna Terschlüsen (165 pts.), closely followed by Tarek Scharifi (155 pts.) and Nico Wichmann (150 pts.), who placed third. Many thanks to all the helpers during the tournament and to those parents, who contributed some nice and tasty food for the participants büfet. |
