On Saturday, the 17th of January 2009, the young Judolions met for the first Club Randori Tournament of the year. Over eighty participants waited expectantly for their first fight. After some warming up games and exercises all players were grouped into their pools. They started their fights with much engagement and got a lot of encouragement by their parents and all the members of the audience.
Referees were - for the first time - our u17 team members Björn Reck, Robin Sixt, AnnaLena und Lara Sinning, Lisa Krüger, Callum Anton und Jan Reisner, who really mastered this challenge. Even our youngest Judo players engaged in their fights with joy. Thus some nice judo techniques could be observed by the bystanders and their applause encouraged everyone of the young fighters to do even better. In between there was enough time to get some drinks and food from the Kiosk run by Susanne DiGioia and Sandra Gärtner. Many thanks to all our helpers as well, your input is much apprechiated. At the time all fights were finished it was dark outside, and that was just fine for Sven Gärtner and Roberto DiGioia, who showed the audience som judo techniques in judogis with fluorescent parts. It was faszinating to watch. Afterwards Anna Lena Sinning acted as Good Luck Fairy for the younges drawing the participants cards of five participants at a random lottery, who won some remote control submarines for a proper bath tub exploration: Jason Grundwald, Joshua Sander, Nicolas Führmann, Ragnar Eltermannis und Antonia Roziewski. Afterward the award ceremony was held for everyone and no one had really lost: All players had gained some insight, experience and self confidence for the next time - which will be coming up soon.
