And that happened in 2009 ... PDF Print E-mail
DSC_7426Another very successful year was 2009 and first and foremost we wish to give our thanks to everyone helping th make this possible again, friends, families and all fans and supporters of our club community. Your undying support and help made all these special moments possible for our Judoka, thanks to all of you!
Again we spent a lot of fun times together in the last 12 months: Christmas Tournament, Leoniade and Summer Camp 2009, as well as vacation and leisure times in Scharbeutz, Athen, and elsewhere, single and team competitions and tournaments abroad and at home. We had a Womens Northern Regional League Team for the first time in 2009 and they incredibly managed to become Northern Regional Vice Champion, while the Mens Northern Regional League Team came in third. The second Mens Team became Local Champion at first go showing the skill of even our younger team members. The SFV Europa students of the Neue Oberschule Braunschweig won the Lower Saxony School Championships "Youth for Olympia" for a second time in 2009 for 2010 and thus will be competing in the German School Championships in March 2010.

In single Competition we also thoroughly enjoyed the success of our club member Andre Breitbarth this year who mamaged to win both of the titles - German Junior Champion and German International  Junior Champion in 2009 as well as win the Bronze Medal at the Junior World Championships in Paris this year. In the mens class two SFV Europa Judoka won the title of German Senior Champion ü30 2009: Stefan Homan (-81 kg) and Sascha Wiese (-73 kg), who ist also responsible for the league training.

So we are confident that we will have fun and many more of these special moments together in the year 2010 to come despite all the financial restrictions global economy might still hold in store for all. We will keep up and remember the words which have been helpful to us in the past: Don´t fade!
