We offer special courses for kindergarden and preschool kids. Many different challenges await our kids on soft judo mats for a tryout of their skills. The children learn a w
hole variety of coordinativ skills useful to them later in life, among them par example how to fall without seriously hurting oneself or how to handle new situations requiring coordnative skills successfully. Responding to these challenges the children will develop self consciousness and an enhanced ability to concentrate on their tasks. During our summer camp we will later continue this programm by offering to the children other forms of sports activities like canoeing, swimming, acrobatics, team games, running and more in addition to their training. |

Sport is an ideal vehicle for universal values in society like respect, tolerance and fair play. Judo is ideal for transporting these values since achievements in competition and development in techniques are always owed to one or more partners understanding each other and training together. The japanese terms for throws and groundwork techniques provide moreover an universal language for all judoka around the world. Acceptance of the achievements and qualities of other partners are also part of the secret of a strong training group. We therefore welcome people with different ethnical and cultural background in our groups and strive to overcome eventual barrieres together arising from different languages spoken. The Judo values of "maximum efficiency, respect for each other and mutual well being" transport a considerate and tolerant interaction of all members of a training group with each other. Judo will help build character strength and help all Judoka gain composure, self comand, modesty, gentleness and thus to always maintain a fair play attidude towards each other. |
The Adult Recreational Group is almost a traditional Institution in Braunschweig by now, meeting on wednesdays regularly for a bit of fun, sports, and relaxation from exhausting working hours. Currently the group of sportswomen and sportsmen is expecting "Frosty Dagmars Day" defined as the coldest day possible in May and June for having a grill party. Our most professional organizer Dagmar is confident to exactly hit the date again this year. In the meantime the group is busy doing Judo, that is if they are not sailing or elsewhere on a short trip. They start with Belt Hockey for a warming up: The teams exert themselves sometimes treating rules more as guidelines, but coach Andreas Mätzing is watching closely! Then the many techniques and fine points of Judo are explored once more with dedication and in high spirits until Randori time (see Gallery pictures). Afterwards the tired and happy members of the group often have a get together at Michelangelo´s restaurant refueling the lost energies. New nice members are always welcome - if you look for a really relaxing evening with lots of fun and action as well visit the main dojo, Friedrich Voigtländer Str. on Wednesdays between 8:00 and 9:30 p.m. If you want to learn more about the group, please visit the link http://www.guertelball.de/ ! |
