Grünes Band: Anti Doping Special Award for SFV Europa! PDF Print E-mail
gruenesband2k9_022The SFV Europa won the 2009 renown Special Award "Anti Doping" of the Dresdner Bankl/ Commerzbank for its activities concerning clean sports in fostering new talents. 20 Judoka of all age groups of the SFV Europa were invited for the Award Ceremony in Berlin on Tuesday, the 8th of September, and went to celebrate the memorable occasion in the capital. Beautiful weather made the stay pleasant even at the next morning when they went for a sight seeing tour in town and at the Pergamon Museum, where several of the younger club members viewed the famous Pergamon Altar for the first time.

SFV Europa within Police SV from 2002 PDF Print E-mail

And the track record went on for the Judolions, as they where named for their club emblem. In order to focus more on the performance sports the old Judo department became the SFV Europa Judo Club within the Police Sports Club in 2002, and that was the name of the team finally reaching the play offs for the rise into the 1. Federal German Judo League under the lead of Coach Axel Broege and sports director Hermann Rossberg. Young Athletes like Marco Nicolosi, Simon Voss and Ingo Kucz supported the Team and made it into the first German League again.

The young athletes of the club training in cooperation with the first partner school for performance sports Judo also developed their abilities. They were all members of the regional squad now and Ann Katrin Breitbarth even made it into the girls national team. The successful concept made it possible that the International German Championships (German Open) were first organized by the SFV Europa Judo Club in Braunschweig and this international event subsequently stayed in town for several years to come. This would not have been possible without the financial support of several sponsors (TXU Energy, Autohaus Schmetzer Volvo, Bischoff Reisen, Baugenossenschaft Wiederaufbau, Fi. Krumpholz Büroausstattungen) won as partners by the club organisation committee (Dr. Hedda Sander, Hermann Rossberg, Helmut Reise, Andreas Hürtler).

Police SV 1996 - 2001 PDF Print E-mail

Don´t give in! This reminder echoed from the successful times of the PSV Judoka prior to 1995. Financial problems made a withdrawal of the successful team out of the Federal German Judo League necessary, two coaches had to leave the club. Still, there were those, who firmly believed in a comeback.

Dr. Hedda Sander as next division manager and Bjorn Deling as sports director didn´t want to believe in the end of the top sport aera and rose to the challenge. They reorganised the Children and Youth sector of the club, organised tent camps, Judo training camps and travels, they also encouraged Judo sport for recreational and health purposes. They were given a helping hand from the Judoka of Heiner Sauers adult members group whenever they asked for it.

PSV Braunschweig (1953 - 1995) PDF Print E-mail
25 years after the foundation of the Police Sports Club Braunschweig (Polizeisportverein Braunschweig) the Judo department developed, founded by the successful Judo and JiuJitsu Player PHK Erich Kaiser after world war II. At first, he was responsible for the self defence education of the police squad, but soon was asked to teach his students additionally in their spare time. Interested civilians joined the group and thus a new club department was founded in September 1953. The volunteer athletic director of the PSV Braunschweig, SpK Roeseling, became division manager of the new Judo department, one of the first in Lower Saxony. 1956 - 1960 three youth teams of this department were sent to the regional championships and each team went home awarded with a medal. Several outstanding players originated here (Heinz Kotschy, Horst Jennewein, the Strychewski brothers, Dr. Klaus Rüder). The outstanding athlete of this time was Hans Jörg Kaiser, the best student of his father, who became Vice European Champion and thus made the name of the young Judo department known at international level.
