After 20 years of successful work the Europa State Training Centre Braunschweig has been awarded with its own official signpost by the Landessportbund Niedersachsen (Lower Saxony Sports Association). The unveiling ceremony was held on July 18th 2008 by the leader of the club together with the president of the Braunschweig Police, Mr. Döhring, in the presence of the leader of the Polizeisportsclub Braunschweig, from which the SFV Europa Judo Lions have branched. The long lived story of success for the Europa State Training Centre is due to the good partnership between Club and Police, who both share the sports facilities in the ownership of the Police. The athletes work together every day per week and are coached on their competition events as well. This intensive schooling of techniques starting in a very early age is one of the reasons for success. The partnership between SFV Europa im Polzeisportverein Braunschweig, Police and the Partner School for Performance Sports Neue Oberschule Braunschweig has brought forth talents like world champion 1991 and Olympia fifth 1992 Frauke Eickhoff, Vice world champion 1997 and Olympia fifth 2000 Anja von Rekowski, Sumo-world champion, and medal winner of Judo- world and european championships Karin Kutz. The winner of the German Open Championships Youth U18 Stefan Homann and Patrick Möhring as well as German Student Champion Marco Nicolosi, German Champion Juniors u20 Andre Breitbarth and many other athletes more train here.
